Work on the new Miller Brothers Band CD continues in earnest. We caught up with Dave Miller to get the latest update.
What's the latest word on the new CD? "The band's been continuing to write new songs and that's making it difficult to narrow down the list of tunes for the new CD. I've been writing, Mark's been writing, Tommy's been writing - we just can't seem to stop. Some of these tunes will have to wait or else we have to talk Foundry Town Music into releasing a double album." (Dave starts laughing...)
What kind of topics are you writing about? "I have a song that we're working on about the wildfires near my house in California last year. We went through a very difficult week with the fires so close nearby. Evacations were going on all over the place, we could see the flames and taste the smoke - thank god, we made it through okay and afterwards, I started thinking about what happened and how lucky we were. The song touches on the amazing situation we found ourselves in...Mark's got some really great new songs - there's one that he plays piano on - he's full of surprises. We were trying to talk him into recording a song using his old Fender Jazzmaster. I have to say his guitar playing has never sounded better!"
When will the new CD be ready? (Dave smiles and responds) "We have a great partnership with Foundry Town Music and we're not under any pressure to meet a deadline. We keep making good progress and when everyone agrees on the final song list, we'll start to work on the final mixes." ______________________
